I agree with what everyone is stating. I have enjoyed the discussions and friendly, helpful nature of this class. Thank you Joyce for creating such an environment. I am amazed at the plethora of Web 2.0 tools out there that I had no idea existed. I think I am in a unique situation from everyone else in that I have been away from education for over 5 years now raising my daughters. I took this class because in Washington state we must complete 15 credit or 150 clock hours every five years to keep our teaching certificates from expiring. So I've used my time off to explore my interests. In the past I've completed courses on web design, keyboarding and American Sign Language. I thought I wanted to begin working toward my library endorsement so I did, beginning with this class. This class opened up my eyes to the role of the school librarian, a good librarian. It also made me excited to try out all of these new tools in the social studies classroom. I would love to teach history or another of the social studies online and utilize Web 2.0 tools to create a fun and exciting curriculum. Curriculum development and lesson planning are actually my favorite components of teaching. I almost think I would be even more engaged if I was in an educational setting like everyone else where I could apply my learning immediately. So I've decided not to continue with the program because I realized it's just not the right time for me to do it, both financially and how I need to spend my time the next couple of years. But library may still be in my future. And all of you are an inspiration in how dedicated you are to professional development and improving the learning experience for students and teachers. So thank you. And I will miss this community.

I have chosen to not complete any more work on 11_1. I will take whatever points I can get from this wiki portion of the grade. I do not need an extension. Thank you.
